Yes. When you click it, it does not actually install the App in your mobile. It just creates a shortcut on your home screen so that it is easily accessible. In fact, it is recommended that you do this for better user experience. Don't worry, nothing gets actually downloaded in your phone.
No, this App is ad-free and it does not open any third-party links. You will only see popup notification when you try to share links in fb, whatsapp, etc. from with in the App. Rest assured. There are no ads nor any links that open other websites.
This app is mainly for helping you plan your journey. You can see the real scenes at the destinations themselves. The pictures are solely for helping identify points/places.
